On Friday 29th September, the Galliard cross country team went to Forty Hall for the borough championships.
The girls ran first at 2.30pm. Galliard did excellent with our best runner finishing 36th out of all 200 participants.
The boys went next with me in the race. The course was tough but all five of us fought through it well. We all went off with a brilliant start but sadly as soon as the starting whistle went; it started pouring down on us heavily. I kept near the front until the last few bends I was pushing hard behind the leader.
The final stretch was straight ahead. It was close. I pushed hard on the leader. Overtaking him to finish first! Everyone else did excellent. Nobody finishing past 50th for both races.
