P.E. and Sport Premium 2016-2017
DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION VISION FOR THE PRIMARY PE AND SPORT PREMIUM
All pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
In line with the DfE we continue with our aim to achieve improvement in the quality of P.E. and sport at Galliard Primary School. Our focus each year has been on a long lasting impact that will go beyond the P.E. Premium funding.
1. The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity - kick-starting healthy, active lifestyles.
Active break times are encouraged at Galliard. As a result of this, new playground markings were laid down in 2014 and outdoor gym equipment was installed in 2016.
2. The profile of P.E. and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.
Our P.E. teacher, Mrs. Nicholls, who now advises for the borough, comes in once a week to support teachers' CPD in P.E.
3. Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching P.E. and sport.
- access to Enfield P.E. team
- P.E. advisory teacher to work alongside staff in P.E. lessons This gives staff the opportunity to team teach, share ideas and enhance and monitor pupil progress
- P.E. INSETs delivered in house or alongside Enfield P.E. team
4. Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.
