On Monday 5th January, Galliard was buzzing with creativity as we welcomed Amber from Splatter and Natter for a whole-staff art INSET day. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as staff came together to explore their artistic sides in a truly inspiring session.

Throughout the day, staff were guided step by step to create their own paintings, discovering new techniques while enjoying the experience. The sense of achievement was incredible, with many commenting that they couldn’t believe they had produced such impressive pieces themselves. Some of these paintings are now displayed around the school, where pupils have enjoyed admiring the creative talents of teachers and staff across the school.

The creativity and confidence gained by our staff will now inspire the children, who will each create their own individual pieces of artwork. These will be displayed in our Galliard Art Gallery, which is dedicated to Frankie Sarno. Frankie, who was a much-loved Teaching Assistant at Galliard from 2018 to 2025, had a deep love and passion for art, making this gallery a particularly meaningful and special tribute.

A huge thank you to Amber and the team at Splatter and Natter for delivering such an enjoyable and creative day. The day has left the whole school feeling inspired, and we look forward to seeing that inspiration come to life in the children’s own artistic projects.
