Be The Best You Can Be

Back to school arrangements September 2021

Dear parents,

I hope you and your families have had a lovely holiday and have been keeping safe and well. We are looking forward to welcoming your children back into school on Monday 6th September.

From Monday 6th we will be commencing breakfast club, and this will start at 8am. Initially, it will run as it has in the past with sessions costing £1.50 and payment made in cash on arrival.

We will be offering a soft start at 8.45 each morning. You will be able to drop your child off at the appropriate gate (see below) and they will go directly into their classrooms where they will be supervised. School will start at 8.55 and registers will be taken promptly.

Please ensure that your children arrive to school on time as this really sets up the day in a positive way for them. We are asking that all children come smartly dressed in school uniform and we will be asking them to wear their PE kits to school on days when they are doing PE. This will be their House t-shirt, dark shorts or jogging bottoms and their school jumper. As a school we will be providing pencils and pens and you will not need to send in a pencil case for your child to use. Please can we also ask that in Yr 1 and Yr2 and Yr 3 and Yr 4 that children do not bring a rucksack to school. Rucksacks take up a lot of space in the classrooms and their book bag will be all that is required. Finally, we encourage all children to bring in a water bottle to school.

We are continuing to follow Government Guidance with regards to dealing with Covid in schools. We will no longer be required to work in bubbles, but we will continue to put preventative measures in place to keep the school community safe. These include regular handwashing and use of hand gel in school, additional cleaning, good ventilation and staff will continue to be encouraged to carry out twice weekly asymptomatic testing. Our Risk Assessment can be found on our school website from the end of this week. Please continue to keep us safe and not send in your child in if they have symptoms. Please book a PCR test and keep your child at home until the result is known. If the test result is negative and they feel well, they can return to school. The new updated guidelines also states clearly that if a member of your household has symptoms they must self-isolate for 10 days following a positive PCR test but all other members of the household who are symptom free can come to school.

This is still a very challenging time for schools as we become more familiar with the most recent guidance. We ask for your patience and understanding. I would also like to encourage parents to continue to wear masks when you enter the school site as an added precaution. We very much hope this year runs smoothly and our children remain in school with their teachers where we know they learn best.

I hope that you enjoy the remainder of the holiday, and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday. Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the school gate and end of day arrangements. We will have several members of staff by gates to assist you and your children in the first week as we all get used of the new routines.

Kind regards,

Mrs Clifford

Acting Headteacher
