What is Relationships and Health Education?

Relationships and Health Education (RHE) is a statutory part of the primary curriculum.

It helps children to:

• build positive friendships and relationships

• understand how to keep themselves safe

• develop healthy physical and mental wellbeing

• recognise trusted adults who can help them

• prepare for life now and in the future

At Galliard, we teach RHE as part of our PSHE curriculum using resources from 1decision.

As part of our consultation process in Summer 2026, we held a meeting for parents and carers explaining our approach to Relationships and Health Education and our updated policy. The policy can be found on the policies section of our website.
