Project
Erasmus Plus Project Activities
2018-2020
C1 Short-term joint staff training events (TRIP TO UK)
- ICT training
P1 - My city and country
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE
Pupils to learn about each other through pen-friends, followed by Skype
. explore and share their identity - all about me activity.
Exchange of identity box items and discuss about it.
children to increase knowledge and understanding of the city/town and
country they live in whilst finding out about other European cities and countries.
Activity: Each partner school will prepare questions about their country and
city for children in other countries to answer. This will include locating country
and city/town on map, drawing flag of the country, currency, heads of state
etc. Next, children to will research the countries and cities of their partners
and then attempt to complete the questions. Questions will be sent back to
the partner schools for the children to mark.
Children will produce language and fact file of each partner country and put
on display board in school and in our shared eTwinning platform.
P5 - Launching of our project to parent.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE
Newsletters will be sent to parents inviting them to the launching of the
project at the beginning of the academic year in September 2018. This will be
an opportunity to get parents involve in the project.
P2 - Data Collection
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE
In Maths and Geography, each school will learn about each other’s climatic
conditions, gather geographical data on population, climate and rainfall, and
use the data to produce different graphs- bar graphs, line graphs, block
graphs etc based on the type of data collected in maths. The aim is to give
pupils the opportunity to learn about each other’s’ geographical data, and to
compare and contrast the differences.
SUGGESTED ACTIVITY
During Geography lessons, pupils will work as a class to collect data on
climate - weather, rainfall, temperature and population of partnership schools
and use it to produce a statistical data (bar charts/graph) and with targeted
questions in maths.
P6 – Research on capital cities
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE
In Geography, children will research on capital cities of each participating
country, focusing on National monuments, through the use ICT.
Children will then display their work in classrooms and on display boards.
in Art lessons, they will use produce art work of their chosen monument- by
painting, collage, shading, colouring etc.
C2 Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils (TRIP TO FRANCE)
- Practical Mathematics
P4
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE
Continue to create numbers from waste materials
SUGGESTED ACTIVITY
Pupils will build upon the previous activity by working in groups to produce
different number products from waste materials - number cards, number
puzzles, number operational symbols, paper and fabrics multiplication
posters, greeting cards, basic number problem cards, coloured drawings,
number calendars, busses from cardboard depending on their age. These
would be shared with partners through Skype, PowerPoint presentation sent
through emails, other resources will be sent through the post.
P3
Children will start learning about the basics of coding in ICT lessons.
They would use Lego blocks to try and build digital devices. This activity
would help pupils acquire basic skills and knowledge in coding and to use it
to build digital devices. It would also help prepare pupils for the collaborative
task on coding and digital learning during trans-national mobility trip to
Norway. Importantly, it would help pupils develop their computational skills,
analytical and reasoning skills.
C3 Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils (TRIP TO POLAND)
- Coding and digital learning, Mathematics-linked ICT
C4 Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils
- Geometry & measurements
P7
In science lessons, children will research on Space, focusing on the solar system.
Children will use their mathematical skills to calculate differences in the planet system. They will work out the differences in terms of size, distances and appearance. Also they will explore each planet's features. Again, children will share this activity on E twinning platform account.
C5 Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils (TRIP TO SPAIN)
- Enterprise Scheme
P8
In D&T, children will use recycled materials to model and design 3-D shapes
of familiar objects in our homes, towns and environment as a whole. Next, they will write questions and statements for the shapes, take photographs of their work and share with partners through Skype, E twinning platform and post. This activity will help children develop their design and technology skills combined with mathematical statements and enquiries.
P9 - Newsletters to parents.
Invitation letters to Education personnel, Guest, Local press etch, informing them about the progress of the project and the celebration of the children's leaning and achievements which would be held in each individual school- (Date will be confirmed later on). Each school will organise an exhibition to celebrate and showcase children's work and achievements in the project.
C6- Short-term exchanges of groups (TRIP TO UK)
- Real life application of Maths and Computing and future planning
